Over the coming decades, the energy industry will come under increasing scrutiny and stress.  These challenges will stem from three sources: 1) increasing demand as large developing countries increase the global demand for energy, 2) rising political and cultural sensitivities to highly polutant forms of energy production and 3) rapid innovation in clean energy technologies.  Together, these three drivers will radically change the landscape of the energy industry.  To compete in this changing climate, the major energy mutlinational corporations will need to make critical organizational changes to remain competitive.  This report analyzes the major players in the global energy industry and proposes innovative new organizational models and target initiatives that will enable the incumbents to adapt to imminent industry changes.
